About the Program

Real Work. Real Experience.

The Mtunda Internship Program provides practical, structured experience in sales, marketing, customer service and e-commerce. You will work on-site alongside our team in Kampala, take on real responsibilities and develop professional skills in a live business environment. This is not observation — from day one, you contribute.

The Role

What You Will Do

Customer CommunicationRespond to customer enquiries, provide product information and deliver a consistent, professional experience across Mtunda’s channels.

Customer Follow-UpFollow up with customers after interactions to support satisfaction, address concerns and maintain strong relationships.

Sales & Marketing SupportSupport the team in day-to-day sales and marketing activities, including lead follow-up, customer outreach and working toward assigned objectives.

Product RecommendationsLearn Mtunda’s product range and make informed recommendations to customers based on their needs and budget.

Online Sales & Order SupportSupport Mtunda’s online sales operations, including order follow-up and customer service for online purchases.

ReportingPrepare and submit regular sales and activity reports to help Mtunda monitor performance and progress.
Your Journey

The 6-Month Structure

01
Months 1 – 2

Training & Development

Onboarding into Mtunda’s products, systems, sales and marketing processes, customer handling and workplace procedures. Close supervision throughout.

02
Months 3 – 6

Independent Work

You take on your assigned sales and marketing role independently, with continued supervision and support as you build confidence and accountability.

03
End of Month 6

Final Assessment

A formal evaluation of your performance, attendance, conduct, reliability and overall suitability. This informs next steps for both you and Mtunda.

Who Should Apply

Currently pursuing or recently completed a Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Sales, Marketing, Business or a relevant field
Interested in developing practical skills in sales and marketing
Able to communicate professionally with customers and colleagues
Able to work on-site in Kampala for the full duration of the internship
Able to commit to the working schedule: Monday to Saturday, 6–8 hours per day
Available to start immediately

Important Information

Internship Terms & Conditions

Please read the following carefully before applying.

The Mtunda Internship Program runs for a fixed period of six (6) months, structured in two phases: a Training & Development phase (Months 1–2) and an Independent Work phase (Months 3–6).

Working schedule: Monday to Saturday, 6–8 hours per day. Sunday is the weekly day off.

Work arrangement: This is an on-site internship based in Kampala. It is not a remote internship.

Stipend: UGX 200,000 per month, all-inclusive. No additional allowances are provided unless otherwise communicated by Mtunda.

At the end of Month 6, Mtunda will conduct a formal assessment of each intern. The assessment considers:

  • Sales and marketing performance and contribution
  • Attendance and punctuality record
  • Professional conduct and attitude
  • Reliability and follow-through
  • Learning progress and adaptability
  • Overall suitability for the Mtunda team

Based on the final assessment, Mtunda may, at its sole discretion:

  • Offer a permanent or contract employment position (subject to available roles and business needs)
  • Retain the intern in Mtunda’s talent pool for future consideration
  • Provide a completion certificate and/or recommendation letter
  • Conclude the internship without further engagement
Important: Completion of the Mtunda Internship Program does not guarantee permanent employment or any form of continued engagement. Employment decisions are made solely based on performance, available positions and the operational needs of the business at the time of assessment.

All interns are expected to comply with Mtunda’s workplace policies, code of conduct and any applicable Ugandan labour regulations governing internship arrangements. Mtunda reserves the right to terminate an internship early in cases of serious misconduct, consistent underperformance or breach of confidentiality.
